You're so cool
So it turns out that A) The error wasn't actually an out of memory error, I was just misreading the error code, and B) The error could in fact be accurately described as the process being "out of memory", because I had my code set up in such a way that the process literally didn't have any memory access at all, including access to the memory where its own code is stored. I tried to run a program that couldn't access its own code lol

୨♡୧ TAKE TWO — miya osamu x reader. sfw. fluff. reader and osamu are exes. best friend!atsumu.
Tumblr media
“do we really have to eat here?” you cross your arms, hesitantly lingering outside of onigiri miya. you spare the sign a quick, apprehensive glance before turning your gaze back to atsumu who looks uncharacteristically annoyed.
“yes.” he nods, pointing at himself. “it’s my turn to pick lunch.”
that much is true but you thought your best friend would be a little more considerate of your circumstances and choose not to force you through an awkward meal at your ex's restaurant. maybe it was silly of you to think so; atsumu hasn’t been necessarily accommodating since your break up. he always invites both of you to his games and takes you back to hyogo to have dinner and celebrate holidays with his family. you suppose these are all things the two of you did before you started dating osamu, but you can’t help but feel guilty for continuing to be so present in the man’s life even after ending things with him.
you sigh and throw your hands out in exasperation. “please just pick somewhere else. he probably thinks i’m haunting him with how often i’m around.”
“no,” atsumu tells you with the shake of his head as he comes to stand behind you. his hands come to rest on your shoulders, firmly guiding you toward the front entrance. “i’m hungry and we’re already here. you’ll both just have to deal with it.”
there’s no use in fighting him on the matter any longer and while you won’t admit it, you’ve been craving some of osamu’s rice balls ever since the two of you split up. so, with a shaky hand, you pull the door open, the bell above it ringing to announce your arrival.
it’s just your luck that osamu is stationed at the host stand when you enter. his gray eyes are shielded by his cap when he looks up but that doesn’t stop you from feeling like his gaze is piercing you. it isn’t cold or dismissive but the intensity is still there.
you’re not sure if atsumu wants to save you the embarrassment of the uncomfortable interaction or if he’s really just starving—regardless of which it is, he speaks up from behind you, one of his hands lifting from your shoulder to hold up two fingers. “table for two, brother.”
osamu hums in confirmation, picking up two laminated menu sheets from behind the podium and nodding his head in a gesture for you to follow. you do, hanging back and falling behind atsumu to keep a healthy distance between yourself and osamu. he settles the two of you at a small booth, setting the menus on the table and telling you both that he’ll give you some time to look over them before he returns to take your orders.
your eyes scan over the selection offered but even without looking at the index of food items, you’d be able to list off almost everything printed on the menu. you had helped osamu draft it, after all.
you remember it like it was yesterday; his experimenting with recipes and your taste testing of each one of them. you’d sit down and help him go through interior design catalogs, compromising on a mix of functionality and trendy. it was an exciting experience, a time when the both of you were happy. but as joyful as the both of you were, it was also hectic and opened your eyes to how you each had priorities and commitments outside of your relationship.
you still aren’t sure if it was the right call, but you and osamu came to terms with that fact and decided to end things on a good note. right person, wrong time or something like that.
with a sigh, you push your menu to the center of the table. it’s a reminder of what once was and you already know what you want anyway. your melancholy aura must reach atsumu on the other side of the table because he levels you with another miffed stare. his lips move as though he’s about to scold you but before he can, his cell phone rings.
the blonde pulls the device from his pocket and reads to contact name lit up on his screen. his golden eyes flit up to you as he stands up from the cushion. “i gotta take this. order my usual if i’m not back when samu stops by.”
you’re tempted to grab his arm as he goes and beg him to stay so you won’t be alone when his brother comes back around but you scoff at yourself instead, saddened by how you’re uneasy at the mere thought of being alone with osamu. you were in love with him once. for all you know, you still might be.
you anxiously wait for atsumu’s return, leg unconsciously bouncing up and down as you do so. osamu beats his brother to the table, though, notepad in hand and a casual smile pulling at his lips. “hey. ready to order?”
you nod, reciting atsumu’s menu choice and then yours, which hasn’t changed since osamu first made it for you. silently, you wonder if he already knew that’s what you’d get.
“anything else?” he asks.
you should just say no and let him be on his way but before you know what’s happening, the words are spilling out past your lips. “i’m sorry.”
“for what?” osamu laughs—the genuine kind with no bitterness laced in it. “getting food?”
“no.” you shake your head, the ghost of a smile tugging at your lips before it falls only a second later. “well, kind of… i know you’re probably tired of seeing me around all the time. it must be pretty awkward for you.”
osamu’s silence pulls your eyes away from your hands and up to his face. you expect him to stiffly chuckle and agree but, to your surprise, he doesn’t. his lazy smile persists as he clips his pen to the waist apron tied around him and stuffs the pad of paper in its pocket.
“i’m not tired of seeing you.” his declaration makes your heart jump from your chest to your throat and your lips part in disbelief. it’s good to hear, though you’d be lying if you said it didn’t catch you off guard. you don’t have time to think about it too much before osamu continues. “and… maybe it’s a little awkward, but it doesn’t have to be that way.”
you press your lips together, puffing out your cheeks with air as you ponder over his words. a stream of cool air pushes past your lips as you deflate your cheeks and turn to look at osamu again. “i don’t know. it seems like an awkward situation by default.”
“yeah, it does. but i don’t want either of us acting cagey just because the other is around.” you don’t want that either. even if things can’t go back to the way they were before, you’re sure that anything osamu has in mind is preferable over strained smiles and forced laughs. “what do you say? no more walking on eggshells?”
it doesn’t sound like a simple solution on the surface but the more you think it over, the more doable it sounds. if you start seeing osamu as your best friend’s brother instead of an ex-lover, all the clumsy interactions you’ve been dealing with for the past few weeks will be traded in for something less delicate, more civil. and although it may not be in your cards at the moment, maybe this could be the start of the path back to the way it once was between you and osamu.
you meet his flint eyes and recognize the hopeful glint swimming in them. it makes you smile, not tense or tight like they have been for almost a month now, but a real one—the kind that meets your eyes. “sounds good.”
“good.” osamu nods, wearing a pleasant smile of his own.
you’ve only just agreed to this new, civil, friendly, non-awkward relationship, but you have to hold back the urge to bombard him with everything that’s happened since the two of you broke up. you want to tell him that you finally got that promotion you were up for and that you were able to adopt that puppy you were always visiting. and you want to ask him all about how his restaurant has been doing and if he ended up moving into that apartment with the nice kitchen that he’d been eyeing up.
“you guys have been talking for a while now.” atsumu’s voice drifts through the air, making you jump. you had almost forgotten about him. he looks between you and osamu as he sits down, taking in your shared smiles and the tranquil air around you. “are you getting back together or what?”
“jesus, atsumu.” you reach over the table to smack his arm. the awkwardness had just dissipated and he single-handedly made this encounter weird again.
osamu holds back a laugh, pointing over his shoulder with his thumb. “i’m gonna go start on your food.”
he walks away but that doesn’t stop atsumu from pestering you for more details. “are you? that slap wasn’t much of an answer.”

My hand to hold p.2
Max Verstappen x driver!reader
Tumblr media
Her head was killing her, figuratively and she thought it might actually physically do ends her , not only did she had to suffer through the whole race weekend with a severe cold that's accompanied with a migraine that rendered her immobile for the past two days. It escalated from a slight pressure to a full fledged drill going inside her head , now the slightest light blinded her and added to her still growing pain , her blocked nose and watering eyes gave her another hell to deal with . She contemplated rewriting her will at the time as she buried herself deeper into the blankets, reminiscing about the times when she could breathe normally through her nose not like how she's struggling to get a decent breath without panting like an old lady taking her last breath of life.
She cursed Carlos in her head for the thousandth time that day for going along with her childish impulses but groaned as she took it back knowing he suffered the same fate as she did that weekend, but obviously minus the migraine and the ragged breaths, she remembers how she fell into a laughing fit when she called him the day before, when he answered her video call with Buffy eyes and a red nose that caused him to sniffles every few seconds added to the sneezing fits that made him groan after every single one . his hair was a total mess , falling over his eyes in a curled disarray with dark circles of sleepless nights evident under his tired eyes , they both flinched at the other's appearance , grimacing in regret as they scowled at eachother through the screen , promising to never do anything stupid or indulging eachother with their childish antics but that promise went like water under the bridge and they both knew they'll do much worse than running under the rain unprotected which now rendered them both sick and unable to function properly.
But back to the present , she groaned in pain as she heard her door unlock slowly with the hinges squeaking as it was pushed open , making her burry her head under the pillows trying to drow out the light of the hallway but regretted her action as she struggled to breathe even more, so she threw away the pillows and peered through bleary-eyed vision as someone got in and closed the door behind them .
She couldn't make out who was it so she asked in a hoarse voice " death , is that you? " Max made a face at her after he turned on one of the dim lights by the door , giving her a decent view of his unimpressed face " not today Bibi " she Groaned again , turning into a small ball leaving her face out as she threw her blanket over her head .
Max made his way over with a small bag that she only noticed now along with a full bottle of water and a bowl of steaming soup . he set them on the bedside table before sitting on the bed beside her curled form , she tried to turn around but failed and kept herself curled resorting to scolded him in a tired tone " no !, you'll get sick too " he ignored her and took the medicine from the bedside table , cranked to bottle open and turned to her " come on , Ben's orders , and you need to eat something, come on up! up! up! " She miserably cried out " I can't ! , too tired" , he helped her up into a sitting position " and who's fault is that? " handing her the medicine along with the water before letting her lay back down.
She glared up at him " it's your fault! " he chuckled quietly asking in a teasing tone " is it now? " She nods but stopped as the room started spinning at her movement " it is ! , you know the dumb shit I do ! , you could've stopped me then I wouldn't have gotten sick !" He glared back at her " you ! And correct me if I'm wrong , actually refused to listen and ran away like a toddler on a sugar rush " , she snapped at his statement " you could've dragged me back" he gave her a deadpanned look " I tried to! , and you almost bit my fingers off ! " She looked away at his answer unable to argue back " in my defence I was left unattended" he rolled his eyes pointing out " you were with Carlos" she shrugged nonchalantly " in his defence he was left unattended too , sooo ......" he sigh knowing there's no use arguing with her .
His soft tone called again " come on, at least take some of the soup, I swear the poor kid is two sneezes away from calling your dad, or worse, calling Roge " she grimaced at the thought of her father breaking down her door once knowing how sick she really is , not like the light almost nonexistent flue she told him she caught days ago, let alone her eldest cousin, that made her shudder as she looked at Max .
He frowned at her tired face, her eye bags amplified his concern further , making him ask her quietly " what hurts?" She made a pained face as she pointed at her head . he nods and looked at the soup deciding that it's still too hot for her to swallow so he turned back to her , adjusting her pillow and leaning his head on the headboard , settling on his back after kicking his legs up to lay beside her while crossing his feet at the ankles , he took out the mint drops out of the bag and unwrapped one and held it out for her, shaking his head when she pushed his hand away " they'll help " she made a face of distaste " no, I love mint but these taste weird " he gave her a pointed look " you won't even taste them with your stuffed up nose , you can barely breathe! " she pouted at his words taking the drop while muttering under her breath " you're mean " he took one of them himself before laying down comfortably " and you're an idiot, so I guess that balances us " watching her gag dramatically when she finally popped it in , not helping his amusement at her displeased face .
After a moment he took her hand starting to gently massage her palm starting from her wrist up towards the pads of her fingers all while concentrating on the area between her thumb and pointer finger, snickering silently at her relaxed face , the meds must kicked in as her eyes started to drop and it didn't take long before she fell asleep with him taking her other hand to do the same process as the other , her now free hand gripped gently at his t-shirt, a habit she's yet to drop since she picked it up years ago .
He gently placed a kiss on the back of her hand before placing it over his heart, closing his eyes and minutes later he drifted off too with the sound of her soft breaths lulling him away .
Tommy peeked his head in to check on the two , it's been a while and no one stepped out yet , so he took it upon himself to check on them , and he wasn't surprised to find them both passed out but still disappointed at the untouched soup , he tiptoed his way to collect the bowl to reheat later , pausing at the sleeping pair and eyes softened at their tired figures , but at least she finally got some rest after suffering through all these sleepless nights , he made his way out quietly, making sure to shut the door behind him gently .

Humans are weird: Aesthetic vs Function
( Don’t forget to come see my on my new patreon and support me for early access to stories and personal story requests :D https://www.patreon.com/NiqhtLord )     “Sir, I am getting several urgent dispatches from the loading area.”
Captain Morris looked up from his data pad at his communications officer.
“Is something wrong?” he asked as he stood up and walked over to their terminal station on the bridge. The officer held his hand to his headset, listening to the messages before answering his captain.
“It appears several of the Corvo soldiers are refusing to relinquish their weapons. Security got involved and the Corvo resisted; two arms men were injured.”
This perked Morris’s interest, and not in a good way. The Corvo were allies in the war effort and he had heard of their abnormal customs from other captains so he had been prepared to give them some leeway while they traveled on his ship, but it was another matter entirely when his crew were harmed.
“Mr. Dover,” Morris called out, “a word if you would.”
From the opposite side of the bridge the master-at-arms Tristan Dover strode over to his captain. He was not a tall man, but wide in frame. His broad muscled shoulders meant that in some instances aboard the ship he needed to turn himself to be able to pass through doorways.
Tristan stood at attention and saluted Morris who returned the salute in kind.
“Are you aware of the situation in loading bay…”
The captain turned to his communications officer who quickly understood the meaning and spoke “Loading Bay 4.”
“Thank you, “the captain replied before continuing, “yes, are you aware of the situation in loading bay 4?”
“I am sir.” Travis replied crisply. “My security details passed the word along to me just now.”
“Any further details?” the captain inquired.
Travis crossed his arms. “I was told that the Corvo refused to relinquish their weapons upon entering the loading bay. When the matter was pressed and the security detail made to enforce the issue the Corvo drew their weapons and attacked them.”
“Casualties?”
Travis shook his head. “Minor wounds only.”
The captain nodded. He paced back and forth between the terminals, stopping to read strands of data or make a quick check with the monitoring officer, then returned back and pointed at the communication officer.
“Tell the security details to hold the Corvo in the loading bay until Mr. Dover arrives.”
The officer nodded and relayed the order over the com while Morris leaned in close to Travis.
“Remind our guests that this is my ship, and while they are on my ship they will follow my rules and that injuring my crew is not to be tolerated.”
Morris leaned back and was about to leave when he stopped himself and leaned back in. “I don’t mind a dirty decking, so long as it is not cluttered.”
Travis nodded at his captain and left the bridge; cracking his knuckles and flashing a smile. -----------------
It took about thirty minutes for Travis to make it to Loading Bay 4. He needed to make a quick stop at the armory to grab a few things. When he arrived he found at least a dozen security officers standing in a line separating the Corvo from the rest of the loading bay. The deck crew still went about their duties save for the occasional glance over at the commotion.
The Corvo were easy to pick out from behind the wall of security as despite having a humanoid form stood roughly seven feet tall on average. They were adorned in a mixture of combat armor and religious robes.
As Travis approached the security officers stepped aside to make a path for him. When he got to the front one of saluted.
“Good to see you sir.” They replied crisply. Travis grunted in response and stepped forward to the Corvo’s.
“I understand there has been an incident here and you have attacked our crew.” Travis began with a calm yet authoritative voice. “I am here by order of the captain to remind you that while we are allies you will follow the rules of this ship while you are onboard.”
One of the Corvo stepped forward and looked down at Travis. His shoulder guard was decorated with three blue stripes signifying that he was the leader; or at least that’s what Travis thought it meant. The only thing he generally cared about in briefings when dealing with aliens were ordinance and cultural triggers for violence.
“I am Mak’t, and I would apologize for this misunderstanding.”
He reached down and began pulling out what appeared to be a sword from a sheath. The security officers made to raise their weapons but Travis forestalled them with a wave.
“These, “ Mak’t began as he pulled the sword free, “are our Okamban blades, sacred to our people.”
As he fully withdrew the blade it burst into bright blue flames as if the very air ignited it on contact.
“It is said that so long as these blades burn the spirit of our ancestors continue to watch over us on the battlefield; and so we could not surrender them as your officers asked.”
Travis watched the flame flicker brightly and whistled in wonder. “A fancier blade I have not seen,” Travis admitted, “but I find it rather odd in this age to bring a sword to a neutron cannon fight.”
Mak’t sheathed his sword once more while shaking his head.
“Forgive me for saying, but the weapons of your people and of our enemies are inferior to our blades.” He rested a hand on the hilt and looked down at Travis, matching his cold gaze with his own. “We have been trained to block their attacks on the battlefield rendering them useless before us.”
Some of the security officers behind Travis rustled at that remark but he paid them no mind.
“Seems we’re at a bit of an impasse here then, friend.” Travis admitted. “Luckily for you the Captain has given me the authority to resolve this situation.”
He pointed to the collection of warriors standing behind Mak’t. “If you and two of your warriors can land a single blow on me with your blades then you can keep them while onboard, but if I win you will surrender them without hesitation and spend the remainder of this journey in the brig for the assault you carried out.”
Mak’t looked puzzled at this challenge. “Why would you face three of us alone?”
Travis smiled. “Thought I’d give you a fighting chance,” he said mockingly as the Corvo warriors growled in anger, “seeing that your disadvantage with weaponry is so staggering.”
Saying nothing at first, Mak’t just looked down at the tiny human before him before nodding in agreement. He made a soft clicking sound and two other Corvo warriors stepped forward, each drawing their blades while the human security officers stepped back to create a ring like circle around the parties.
“So, we’ll go on the count of three then.” Travis announced. His hands casually cradled a rifle between them as he watched the three Corvo warriors prepare themselves. Each took a different stance with the light of their flaming swords casting dozens of differing shadows about them.
“One.”
“Two.”
“Three!”
The Corvo warriors to either side of Mak’t lunged forward ready to bring down their flaming swords in an instant; screaming in their alien language as they got within three feet of Travis before he brought up his own rifle.
In a flash Travis brought up his rifle and fired at the closest warrior. The sudden attack broke the warriors forward momentum as they brought their weapon up to block the attack only to find that rather than an energy blast they were being pelted with dozens of tiny rocks.
The flaming sword blocked some of them but far too many simply went around the sword and embedded themselves into the alien’s skin causing them to scream out in pain and fall to the ground.
From the corner of his eye Travis saw a blur of motion and side stepped just in time to avoid the downward swing of the second warrior. The blade carved into the decking with a loud hissing sound before the warrior pivoted and brought the blade up for a slash at Travis’s midriff.
Pulling a knife free that had been strapped to his leg he casually flung it into the blade rather than around it. The second warrior was confused until they felt the burning hot sting of molten metal the knife had been reduced to shower his body. The armor he wore protected some of their frame but since they were not wearing a helmet a glob of red hot metal landed on the alien’s cheek giving off a stench of burning flesh.
Surprisingly the warrior rallied themselves than give into the pain only for Travis to bring up his rifle and fire another scatter shot center mass sending them balling over in pain. Travis couldn’t see but given the goop now dotted around the floor he wagered some of the rock salt just punctured one of their eyes.
With the two companions dealt with Travis turned his attention to Mak’t who had not engaged like the others when the fight began.
“You fight without honor.” Mak’t announced. “To use such trickery against true warriors is the act of a coward.”
“If I recall you said you were trained to defeat modern weapons,” Travis countered, standing between the downed Corvo warriors, “that my attacks would be rendered useless by your weapons.”
He unceremoniously kicked one of them hard in the back drawing the ire of Mak’t as he took up a stance for the first time.
“I even gave you a three on one advantage and you still say I am being unfair.”
“Your tricks will not work on me.” Mak’t declared.
Travis didn’t even bother to respond as he casually pulled a canister from a harness across his chest and threw it directly at Mak’t’s feet. Mak’t jumped backwards expecting further trickery rather than attempting to deflect it. To his surprise the canister did indeed not explode but rather began shooting out large volumes of a thick white gas.
The gas began to billow out more and more until the gathered ring of spectators was engulfed by it. Mak’t looked up from the canister just in time to see Travis donning a strange mask over his eyes and mouth.
It was only then that Mak’t heard coughing and gasping from his fellow Corvo warriors behind him and realized the gas must be some form of airborne weapon. He tightly clenched his mouth shut and carefully stepped forward to meet Travis in final combat. His breathing control would allow him at least ten minutes before he needed to inhale again giving him more than enou-
Mak’t made it barely three steps before his eyes began burning. They felt as if hot daggers were being shoved into them and twisted by the most merciless tormentor. This sudden influx of pain broke Mak’t’s concentration and he gasped out for air. No sooner had he taken his first breath did his lungs begin to share the burning sensation his eyes did, forcing the warrior to his knees as his hands feebly wiped his eyes again and again.
Through the blurry sight left to him he watched as Travis walked through the white cloud and stood over him. The human looked down at him and Mak’t could only imagine the look of smug satisfaction he must have held to see him brought so low.
Instead of gloating or boasting about how their weapons weren’t as inferior as Mak’t had declared, he brought down his fist as hard as he could against the alien’s face sending him straight to the floor.
“I think we count this as my win, yeah?” Travis asked the now unconscious Mak’t. He waved over the rest of the security officers who had likewise donned gas masks of their own and began the process of collecting the decorative swords from their guests before ushering them down to the med bay and finally their new home in the brig.

Any snirius fic recommendations?? I'm starving for some good ones after not reading any for years!
Oooooh okay, so new fics then, let's gooooo 😎🤩 I only read on AO3, and only complete fics (because I have goldfish brain) here are some of my bookmarks, with title and summary:
Broken Me Found Broken You by JustSadThingsMostly It’s determined that Severus Snape and Sirius Black are immune to punishment after years of near-fatal pranks, bullying, and homemade curses. The only person who thinks them capable of ending the feud and finishing their education is Professor McGonagall. For the summer of ‘77, she gives them a pair of charmed hand mirrors and an ultimatum: communicate. That’s it, a mere ten minutes every Saturday. Back at Hogwarts, when their animosity proves insurmountable, Sirius and Severus are relegated to a small, Eighth Year dormitory. The tight quarters—wandless—are intended to force them to make a peaceful reconciliation, but peace is impossible with a bloody war ramping up inside and outside the castle.
sitting pretty (in my brand-new scars) by BitterArm Sirius Orion Black was hardly the only runaway child that Fleamont and Euphemia Potter fostered. In fact, by the time Sirius gets there the summer after fifth year, James has called at least ten kids his foster siblings — including, to Sirius’s complete shock, James’s foster brother of the past year, Severus Snape. Snape’s fifth year had been nearly as bad as Sirius’s summer, and now that they’re stuck together, are they going to be able to find common ground and move past five years of antagonism?
Turmoil by Metalomagnetic (read the warning) Two lost boys taking all the wrong turns.
First and Last and Always by Tracy_Martell (with one-sided Jeverus) The marauders find out that Sirius and Severus have been living together, James doesn't know what to think.
Fiddler's Green by Gadhelyn (Time travel fix-it) In 1996, after the battle in the Ministry of Magic Sirius Black falls through the Veil, a barrier between the living and the dead hidden in the Department of Mysteries, in a room pertinently named the Death Chamber. He dies, but as it is later learned, not everything is ever so simple. Two years later, Lord Voldemort is about to be defeated but doesn’t know it yet. Severus Snape is about to meet his maker as well, to fall into his own demise as the double agent no-one cares to suspect any longer, as he’s proven his loyalty to the Dark Lord by killing Albus Dumbledore. He’s fine with it, ready even, to perish for good. But when death arrives, Severus realises soon enough that for some reason he does not move onto the next life, but rather… onto the past.
Pitter-Patter by TheRealFenix (Crack fic!) "Get to Grimmauld Place as quickly as possible. Remus’s introductions were as clear as day and Harry wasted no time in following. That day, at seven in the morning, he gave Ginny a quick kiss goodbye before flooing to Sirius’s place. Nothing could have prepared him for what he saw. " Severus and Sirius are stuck in their animagus form and Harry is forced to be their pet-sitter until a solution is found.
Here the Devastation by brightened (Zombie Apocalypse) Mutated Inferi and an inexplicable loss of magic destroy the world. Sirius Black and Severus Snape have a simple mission: ensure the knowledge of Voldemort's horcruxes outlives them.
Against the Tensile Gloom by zedpm (with Sev’s ego/id which is a pretty cool concept) or, "The Mind-Body Problem" Sirius stopped and blinked. There seemed to be not just one but two Snapes; one scowled at him, and the other grinned. Sirius had half a mind to go curl up at the feet of the smiling one, but said instead, “My God, he’s budding.” “Ha ha,” said the scowling Snape. “I’ve had a Potions accident. This one”—he gestured at the smiling Snape—“is completely useless. Can he stay here until I get this sorted out? He seems to be my id. He keeps telling me—he’s all impulse. I understand how I need my id in order to function, but it’s—oh, for the love of God, Severus.” He ran a hand over his face as the other Snape began ignoring him to peruse the bookshelves.
Tears (Translation) by brightened (original title Lágrimas by Belu_Ruiz_Snack) Sirius Black isn’t sure what to think of Severus Snape. He’s even less sure about Snape being his personal Mediwizard, under orders of Albus Dumbledore who assures them both that it will hasten his recovery from his long imprisonment in Azkaban. As time goes on, Sirius discovers that Snape’s prickly exterior protects a tender, haunted soul. At the same time, Severus discovers that Sirius Black is not the cruel, unbearable wizard he always believed him to be. What will come from this forced coexistence?
Playing with Fire series by Threadbear (Rock band AU, updating with Part 3!)
And a list of some of my favourite Snack writers (I'll recommend all of their fics) Threadbear, TowardtheStars, brightened, Im_just_visiting, The_Lady_Crane, Mr_Customs_Man Only in Mandarin: yatri (my all-time favourite, too bad she doesn't have AO3), Stoneinthewater

I was going yo write a multichap for sally face but i am much better at oneshots so i am scrapping that idea however i am sharing how much i had written so far
Tumblr media
"Why can't you let us know anything about what happened?" You argued, glaring at the stubborn police officer guarding the door. Ms.Sanderson was somebody you held dearly in your heart and she was dead so quickly. Of course you wanted ton investigate but it was difficult when police officers wouldn't answer any questions.
"Get lost, little girl." The police officer ordered, glaring down at you. You rolled your eyes and started walking away, when in the corner of your eye you noticed a person with blue hair in pigtails. They must be new to Addison apartments and possibly your age.
"Hey!" You called out, rushing towards them. You got closer and they turned around, wearing a mask? (No, actually you realized it was a prosthetic something you had seen on TV recently.)
"I'm [Name] and I live in 202. What's your name?" You said, holding out your hand for them to shake. They accepted the offer, their hand cold (but nice) as they gave you a firm handshake.
"The name's Sal but my friends call me Sally Face." The person responded, voice slightly raspy and very masculine. Oh, so the new kid is a boy. There wasn't anything wrong with that, in fact its totally cool! "I just moved in and decided to check out my neighbors."
You nodded and smiled, listening to his words. He had such a soothing voice, it was incredibly easy to listen to. You were determined to make him your friend.
"Well I can introduce you to Larry, one of my best friends who also lives here." You said, hoping Sal would take the offer. You wanted to be his friend, if he doesn't want to hang out with you now will he ever?
Much to your relief, he nods and starts following you. Maybe he can help you figure out what happened with Ms.Sanderson! So will Larry, probably, but the more helping is better.
You passed by some of your other neighbors, which makes you describe them all. From the creepy Charlie to the strange Mr.Addison. It was hard to tell if he was listening since you couldn't see his expressions through the mask, but you kept talking anyhow.
"Hi, Lisa." You waved as you approached Larry's mom cleaning the floor. She looked up and smiled, smiling at Sal behind you as well.
"Hi, dear. Who's this?" She asked, although more framing the question towards Sal. He introduced himself, and Lisa did the same.
"Is Larry in his room?" You asked, wanting yo get back to the reason you had approached her. Lisa nodded and tossed you a key to her apartment so you could head inside.
"How long have you lived here?" Sal asked, walking side by side with you. He looked at you, one of his eyes a gorgeous blue color that was so vibrant it was surely electric. His other eye was a much more muted blue although just as pretty..it seemed he had only one eye that actually functioned.
"Probably as long as I can remember." You chuckled, shrugging, "I've grown up in Nockfell and I think I've pretty much lived at Addison since I was a toddler. Where are you moving from?"
"New Jersey." He replied, voice a bit more curt. You winced and noted it as a touchy subject, hopefully Larry won't bring up any of this when you see him.
Finally you two made it to the basement and you unlocked Lisa's apartment, "She gets to live here basically for free since she is the janitor. Larry is her son and he's our age."
Sal nodded and followed you as you entered the apartment. "Larryyyyy," You yelled, "Get your lazy ass out of your room!"
A few seconds go by and surprisingly enough Larry walked out of his room. He was tall with long hair (that looked surprisingly soft despite him being terrible at taking care of it) and of course a Sanity Falls t shirt.
"Whoa, dude." Larry said, laying his eyes laying on Sal, "Nice mask!" He gave Sal a thumbs up, the bro code for gaining his respect.
"It's a prosthetic," You corrected at the exact same time Sal says it too. He glanced at you, seemingly surprised.
"How did you know its a prosthetic?" He asked, eyes boring into your skin. Your face warmed and you looked away, unused to such a piercing stare.
"I just guessed since I have seen them on TV before." You replied, trying to hide your fluster. Larry raised his eyebrow at you, noticing your reaction but luckily he said nothing. You would've fought him otherwise.
Sal nodded and left it alone, glancing around the room. He noticed the Sanity Falls poster and Larry started geeking out on him.
`ᘞ✿❀ᘡˊ°`ᘞ❀✿ᘡˊ°`ᘞ✿❀ᘡˊ°`ᘞ❀✿ᘡˊ°`ᘞ✿❀ᘡˊ°`ᘞ❀
"Is this a good idea? Probably not." You said, sighing as you realized what you guys were about to do. But it's for Mrs.Sanderson! It's necessary.
"Okay so I distract the officer while you too sneak into Mrs.Sanderson's room. I have one walkie talkie that you guys can both use." Larry says, tossing the walkie talkie to Sal. (Rude, you've known Larry longer.)
Sal and you both nodded, ready to get the plan in motion. You all exited Larry's room, with Larry going to her room.
You and Sal waited nearby, listening for the signal you can proceed. Your heart pounded and your blood felt charged with electricity, this was more exciting than you were used to.
Finally the walkie talkie crackled to life as Larry gave the all clear. You glanced at Sal and nervously smiled, rushing towards Mrs.Sanderson's room quickly.
Your footsteps echoed your heavy heartbeat, threatening to jump from your chest. You tried to mentally prepare yourself, it was going to be bloody probably and it could be scary. Stay calm, just stay calm.
Sal opened the door and courteously went in before you, probably since his noticed your hands shaking with nerves. Even though your fear was valid it was embarrassing. Swallowing the lump in your throat, you followed Sal and crinkled your nose at the utter stench of death.
You dragged your eyes through the scene, dark red splatters all around the room like a gruesome painting. Attempting to focus, you noticed something. There was a empty spot where the blood splatter went...like an object was there and got removed.
"Sal, Sal, look!" You hissed, nudging him with your shoulder and pointing at the spot, where it looked like there was a missing glitter pony. Sal nodded and looked at you.
"Good job! Now lets go before we get caught." Sal said, turning around and hurrying the way you both came. Footsteps were quiet and rapid as you guys practically ran out of the room before the officer came back to the room.
Once you were safe, you leaned forward catching your breath. Sal was staring at you, his emotions unidentifiable under his mask.
"Its cool that you noticed that earlier, I almost missed it." Sal said, giving you a small nod. Larry showed up a few moments later, a big grin in his face.
"Now we just have to find evidence in Charlie's room." Larry said, feeling serious about locking the creep up. And honestly, it made some sense that Charlie killed Mrs.Sanderson.
"I'm sure one of his glitter ponies has blood on it. That could be evidence." Sal said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Yeah, but he would flip out if we got too close to them." You pointed out.
Larry nodded, seeming a little deflated. You were too, how would you get close enough to the glitter ponies without Charlie trying to commit even more murder?
"He falls asleep when he drinks Mr.Addison's tea..maybe we could make it stronger?" Sal suggested, the observation skills being on point. You smiled, although not sure how you guys were going to drug Charlie.
"Do you guys have any sleeping pills?" Larry asked and you shook your head sadly. Without any sleeping pills how would you make Charlie go to sleep?
"My dad takes sleeping pills. I can get those." Sal said, and you all agreed on it. It was scary how easily your plans were working but there was no time to question your fortune.
Sal got the pills and you got the tea. Together you mixed the concoction and got ready to drug your neighbor. Normal teenager behavior of course.
"Since he might be a murderer and try murderous things, you can stay behind me." Sal said, holding the tea and staring at you. You gave him a warm smile, something that has been happening more since Sal showed up.
"Thanks, Sally." You said, following behind him as you entered Charlie's room. You had a plastic baggie in your hands, big enough to snatch up a glitter pony if you find it.
Charlie was sitting on his chair as usual, practically melted into the furniture. He looks at you as you enter, his eyes trailing down your skin. Ew.
"I got you some more tea." Sal says, handing the cup to Charlie. His eyes light up and he slurps the tea greedily, only to pass out right after.
"At least we know it works?" You said, before shaking your head and focusing on the collection of toys. Carefully you scanned each one looking for any sort of blood stain.
A presence stood beside you, Sal moved to stand beside you somehow completely silent. Finally he must have noticed the bloody pony because he took the plastic baggie and grabbed it.
"oh, awesome!" You said, jumping when

Will there be a pt. 2 to “Watch My Heart Burn” I’m living for the angst 🥺
WATCH MY HEART BURN PT 2. ( Wednesday x Reader )
AUTHOR NOTE! Yes there will be! <3 pairing: Tyler Galpin x Fem! Reader, Wednesday Addams x Tyler Galpin prompt: based on ‘Watch’ by Billie Eilish key: h/c = hair color, e/c = eye color, f/n = father’s name, b/n = brother’s name, Kent & Divina = Bianca’s Siren buddies word count : 800+ words
Tumblr media
When you call my name, do you think I'll come runnin'?
The sadness had melted away quickly, leaving only an icy bitterness. Her brother’s words ringing in her head, ‘Tyler’s just another dick normie’. He was right, Tyler was one. He wasn’t a friend after all. He was just another dick normie who liked to fuck with ‘freaks’ like her.
Blinking away her thoughts, she tightens her grip on Divina’s arm, trying not to show too much of her discomfort. Even though she wanted to avoid Tyler like he was the plague, she couldn’t. It was a small town⎯with one coffee shop, and quite frankly, she needed coffee to function.
“You sure you’ll be okay?” Divina asks, a unsure look on her face.
“Yeah, if he’s there then it’s a shame. But, I’m pretty sure that Xavier is working there today.” She argues, “Maybe, I’ll get Xavier at the cash register. Maybe, I won’t have to deal with him.”
“Let’s hope. But, seriously. If it’s too soon or too much, don’t force yourself. I’m not gonna make you stick around.” Divina reminds, making her hum.
“I can’t avoid him forever⎯unfortunately⎯But, I need to prove that a normie like him has no control over me.” Y/n explains, “I’m going. I’m going to order my coffee. And I’m going to give him the cold shoulder. Plain and simple.”
Walking inside the cafe, the smell of fresh coffee fills her senses, along with the light tang of chocolate croissants that lingered in the air. Flipping her hair over her shoulder, she keeps her head up high, her eyes locked on the menu. Today was a new day. She now knew his true colors.
So, why did she have to be the bigger person? Why couldn’t she be a little petty? A little bitter? Walking up to the counter, Divina nudges her side, a warning look on her face. One that says, ‘Please, don’t say or do anything mean. We don’t want him ruining our drinks.’
“Hey, Y/n! How you’ve been⎯” He asks, flashing her a big smile.
“I’ll have a coffee, two sugars and one pump of vanilla creamer.” She cuts in coldly, “I’ll have it in a to-go cup, name is Y/n. Thanks.”
“I⎯um⎯Okay? I⎯ah⎯I’m sorry, did I do something wrong?” He asks, stuttering.
“How much will that be?” She asks, ignoring him.
“Three dollars, but seriously what’s up? Did I do something wrong or..?”
Yes, there was something wrong. But, clearly it wasn’t ‘important’ enough to stick in his mind. Fishing out a five dollar bill out of her pocket, she drops the bill on the counter, refusing to get even an inch closer to him than she already was. Letting go of Divina’s arm, she whispers about ‘seeing her at the table’, turning her nose up. She breaks eye contact with him. Her eyes darted to the free table at the entrance of the cafe.
“Keep the change.” She grunts over her shoulder.
You never did the same..
Letting out a small snort at his shitty joke, she flips a strand of hair over her shoulder, her cheeks flushing a bright red. Even though she wasn’t as well acquainted with Kent as she was with Divina. She’d admit that she was really enjoying his company.
Feeling eyes drill into the side of her head, she shifts her eyes from Kent to the busying cafe, seeing Xavier staring at her. She sends him a friendly small wave and smile, earning one back from him. Turning her eyes back to Kent, there's a slight flush to his cheeks from how hard he had been laughing.
“So what are you going to do this winter?” He questions, taking a sip of his coffee.
“Oh, B/n and I are going with Dad to our grandparents. Mom should be back a few days before Christmas, along with our Aunts and Uncles.” She explains, making him hum.
“That’s cool! We’re traveling upstream to visit Mom’s salt water relatives.” He explains, “Are you at least excited for your grandparents?”
“Yeah, I just can’t wait to hear, ‘F/n, how’s the wife doing? Oh, she’s in Romania? Guess, you’re stuck babysitting?’. So much fun.” She scoffs, rolling her eyes.
“Could be worse! Divina and I have to deal with, ‘Oh, you really let your scales get that bad?’ and ‘Well that’s a choice?’. It’s the worst I tell you!” He rants, “Don’t get me started on the looks that they send our ways.”
Cringing at the sound of his family reunion, she knew that her family reunions were horrid, but that just sounded a thousand times worse! Her family were seers and that was dreadful enough. They’d rant and critique their choices, saying how it ‘changed their fate for the worst’. But a house full of Siren’s? No thanks.
Offering him an apologetic smile, he waves off her smile with a shake of his head. Opening her mouth to speak, she’s cut off by Tyler approaching their table, a stern look on his face. Nope. Nope. Nope. She was not going to deal with this. She wasn’t about to let him try to make up an excuse for his behavior.
“Can we talk?” He asks, making her scoff.
“No.” She grunts out, bluntly.
“Great⎯Wait what?” He asks, a shocked look on his face.
“I said, no. I have nothing to say to you.” She argues, “So please leave us alone. We’re having a private conversation.”
Opening his mouth to argue, she raises a hand, glaring daggers at him. She was not about to deal with this. She made the mistake of being friends with him. But, now she has learned a lesson. He was not to be trusted. Looking over at Kent, he’s glaring daggers at Tyler, relief fills her at the sight. She’d thought he’d think she was too much. Or taking things too far. But, it was nice to know that he was on her side in this situation. It was refreshing.
“But⎯” He tries, but she cuts him off.
“We’re not friends. This is incredibly inappropriate.” She argues, “Now, like I said. Can you please leave me alone?”
“Y/n..”
“No, you hurt me Tyler and I’m not going to listen to any excuses. I’m moving on and I don’t see you⎯nor do I want you in my life anymore. So, like I said, leave me alone.” She argues, her voice icy and stern.
So good at givin' me nothin'..

Bar Visit
Dazai Osamu X OC!Fem!Reader Sakunosuke Od X OC!Fem!Reader (Platonic)
Word Count: 1383
Requested: Anon
Request: Original Request 1 & 2
Tumblr media
You could just start your bike and leave, Dazai had manipulated you into a night out with people that he called his friends. You hadn’t wanted to go at first considering most people found you scary and hated you at any type of social function. He had promised you a really good time and you worried that was a lie and now you were waiting for him outside the hideout after a mission. You were just about to start up the engine when he called out “you waited for me!” “You asked me too.” You mumbled leaning forward on the handlebars of the motorbike as he climbed on the back. “Where are we going?” “The Lupin Bar.” He answered. “The what?” You asked. “Don’t worry I’ll show you.” He answered, urging you to start the bike.
After an almost life threatening direction giving from Dazai you made it to the bar, you both stood outside as your eyes cast to the floor “maybe this isn’t a good idea, people don’t like me, they think I’m creepy-” “Stop worrying, come in with me and if it doesn’t work out then I won’t make you do it again.” He muttered fiddling with the bow on your head, you honestly did not believe him but there was nowhere to run now. “It really doesn’t matter if anything happens you can always beat up everyone in this place.” “This is different and you know it.” You mumbled. “You need to relax.” He teased as he looked at you, finally dragging you through the door. The inside of this bar was cozy, small, with warm lighting and a safe feeling. “They aren’t here yet.” Dazai walked over to the bar taking a seat, you made your way over to the seat in the corner occupying yourself as you waited for it to be over, you checked over the reports for your mission, played with your skirt and finally started checking your makeup, eventually mixing lipstick colours. “What are you doing?” “Huh?” You asked not even realising that Dazai was watching you. “Why are you mixing colours?” He asked. “I was bored. Does it look bad?” You asked looking back at the mirror, he rolled his eyes before snatching it from you. “I don’t know how many more times I can tell you to relax.” Dazai teased. The door opened drawing your attention there as Dazai stashed the mirror away, the two men walked over to Dazai. “Odasaku! Ango! You guys took forever!” “Some of us have work we have to do, Dazai.” Ango answered, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. “We worked too, just finished quicker.” Dazai waved them off. “We?” Oda asked as he glanced over at you, eyes solely trained on your skirt. “Yeah! This is Fuyuko, she’s the one that I was talking about.” Dazai answered “Fuyuko, this is Ango and Odasaku.” You nodded in acknowledgement of what he had said but your eyes didn’t move from your skirt. “I know who she is.” Ango muttered “she looks like her father.” “This seems like it isn’t her scene, Dazai,” Oda said as he passed over a drink that Dazai had ordered for you. “Well she didn’t really want to come today but she needs more friends.” Dazai answered, your hands twisted into your skirt. “And you thought the best way to make that happen was to drag her out here and force her to hang out with you?” Oda asked. “She’d never make any friends otherwise.” Dazai mumbled. “Well she’s better than you are, at least she knows when to keep to herself.” Ango muttered, you gave a small snort holding in the laughter that wanted to spill out. “What!?” Dazai whined. “He’s not wrong.” Oda shrugged a small smirk on his face, noticing the way that you seemed to relax around them. “Come on guys!” Dazai continued to whine and complain, by the end of the night you were much more comfortable with them and the friendship that you treasured was born.
For the next couple of weeks you came to the Lupin Bar on your own but one evening you and Oda were the only ones there “I need to ask you a favour.” He said turning to you. “Yeah?” You asked. “I just need help getting some things back to my place. Can you give me a hand?” He asked. “Oh uh sure.” You answered, he handed over a bag that seemed to be filled with toys, the others have books in it. “What do you need all of this for?” You asked. “It’s for the kids.” He answered. “You have kids?” You asked, following after him. “Well, I give them somewhere to stay, they’re parents aren’t around anymore.” He answered, you nodded almost wishing that someone like him had found you after your father died. You walked in silence after that, until you were standing outside the restaurant that the kids lived above. “Maybe I should stay out here, kids don’t really like me much.” You explained holding out the bag. “Come on, I promise they aren’t the same as most kids.” He smiled as he gestured for you to follow him, he led you through the small restaurant, up the stairs the kids were all up in the bedroom, sitting on their bed and playing with each other. They seemed happy, even happier when they noticed that Oda was there they all rushed over to see what he had brought, you smiled as you watched them all interact and thanked him for everything that they had given him. “Is that your friend?” One of them asked, you looked over at her but waited for Oda to speak. “Yeah, she’s not that good at making friends, do you think that you can help her?” Oda asked, the girl nodded as she walked over grabbing your hand. “Wait what am I-?” “Don’t worry, just play with them.” He smiled as the girls dragged you over to their bed showing you their dolls and even asking about you doing their hair to match yours. You both stayed for about 2 hours before you headed back to the bar with Oda and the kids went to bed
“So you look after all of them?” You asked as you swirled the drink in your cup. “Yeah they’re parents weren’t the best people but they don’t deserve to suffer for that.” Oda answered as he drank what was left in his glass and called over the bartender to make another. You didn’t realise his eyes drifting you, the hand that was wrapped around the cup. “Your hand, did you do that?” He asked. “What?” You asked, looking down at your hand. “oh , I forgot about that.” There was a large gash that started between your index and middle finger all the way down the back of your hand and across your wrist. “Oh no, it’s from a mission, I wouldn’t do this to myself, if I die it’s going to be in the most painful way possible because that is what I deserve.” “And the nightmares?” He asked. “They still happen.” You shrugged and he nodded. “You know if you ever need someone during the night you can always call.” He said, you had both been friends for a little while now but he still worried that he was overstepping a boundary especially with how shy you were on your first meeting. You looked up at him with a smile on your face, he could see the tear welling in your eyes but he didn’t say anything. “Second best brother.” You finally said. “Second?” He asked. “Well Ango is first.” You answered with a smile growing wider on your face. “I thought the kids would have given me a one up.” He mumbled. “Damn.” Your attention was drawn to the door where Dazai and Ango were arguing they hadn’t noticed you yet. “Maybe you should save him from himself too, he needs it.” “I’ll protect anyone, your all my friends” You answered before you felt the weight of someone leaning over your shoulder. “Look at you making friends.” Dazai teased as he ruffled your hair and swatted him away as the night continued the way that it always did with laughter and drinks.

The mess inside the house was the last of my worries when I unlocked my mailbox and saw what had been delivered while I was gone. It was deja vu right down to the brown 100% recycled paper envelope that promised it was sustainable and carbon neutral. I flipped it over and saw the same return address of the London lawyer that Trent had used nearly three years ago and my stomach turned.
“Addie, can you show Pierre the house? I just need to make an important phone call.”
Addie didn’t give Pierre a chance to ask me what was wrong as she grabbed his hand and marched him inside my renovated bungalow. Granny had been perplexed when I brought the single storey fixer upper and offered to buy me something bigger and newer but I loved the character it held and there was more than enough space for the two of us. Addie and I had made the place our sanctuary and I wished I could take the house with us when we moved.
“Hey mum,” I choked when she answered the phone. “I think I need your help.”
“What is it, mija?” She asked as I took a seat at the desk in my study and tore through the envelope to see the court summonings.
“Assault,” I gasped as I skimmed over the details. “I’m being charged with assaulting that bastard Trent Gordon!”
“Hijo de puta,” mum swore and I heard something sounding suspiciously like a door being slammed shut. “Send me through the documents and I’ll make some calls. I wouldn’t worry too much, mija, I’m sure this can be settled out of court.”
“Alright,” I sighed and looked at the framed photo on my desk from the day Addie was born. I had never been more afraid than in that moment but as soon I looked at her something snapped into place and I knew I would do anything for her.
A shadow across my wall alerted me to Pierre’s presence and I cleared my throat of the emotion that had tightened it. Pierre walked into my study and picked up a 3D printed, fully functioning A523 replica I had used for my final paper and he looked at the precise details of the miniature version of his race car as he leant against my desk. He mindlessly spun the wheel with his fingers as he waited for me, resting his hip against my desk.
“Let me know what you figure out. Te amo, mama.”
“Yo también te amo.”
I hung up the call and placed my phone on the desk beside my MacBook that I hadn’t opened since I submitted my final paper last month. I didn’t say anything as I traded the documents for the racecar and his eyebrows shot up after the first sentence.
“Is this serious?” he asked. “You have a restraining order against him. Shouldn’t he be the one in court?”
“Mum’s going to look into it, I don’t really know anything about all that. She took care of everything last time.” I massaged my temples and let out a defeated sigh. “All I want is a few days where I don’t have to deal with any shit. I feel like all I’ve done for the last three years is run from one fire to the next. I’m so fucking tired, Pierre.”
“Oh, mon amour,” Pierre murmured as he swivelled my chair around and he knelt between my knees, his hands running soothing lines up and down my legs. “You were doing that all by yourself, but not anymore. Everything will workout in the end.”
“And if it’s not okay, it’s not the end?” I finished for him.
Pierre chuckled. “Otmar has a lot of useful sayings.”
“That one he stole from John Lennon. But thank you.” I leaned forward and stole a much needed kiss from him before Addie danced into the room wanting to go to brunch. “Okay, I’ll just send this to Abuela then we can go. Did you give Pierre a tour of the house?”
She nodded proudly.
“She showed me where to leave my bag, in the guest room,” Pierre chuckled. “Has your gym ever been used? I think there was still protective wrap on the machines.”
“Not really, I made a passing comment about losing the baby weight to Granny after Addie was born and then the next day my rumpus room was Betty-fied. I only use the treadmill for physio,” I turned to Addie and took her hand. “Sweetie, Pierre’s going to be staying in my room.”
“With you?”
“I should hope so.”
She tilted her head as she looked between us and asked, “why?”
“Well, um, because he’s my boyfriend.”
“Oh, like when Rienhardt sleeps over.”
“No,” I said with a laugh as Pierre looked at me. “Reinhardt is Addie’s friend from pre-school.”
“He’s a boy.”
“Yes and he’s your friend, I know what you mean. But the relationship Pierre and I have is very different.”
“Okaaaay…” Her confusion pinched her brows together and pursed her lips but she let it drop.
“You’ll understand one day.”
We left it at that and went to put on our shoes so we could walk through the park to Ivy Cafe. There were quite a few groups of uni students out enjoying the sunshine before the next semester started and a few familiar faces waved to Addie as we walked along. She was always more sociable than me and had made friends with almost all the locals while we were out and about.
One group of young men had used their shoes to set up a makeshift goal and were playing a friendly match of football. The ball went flying and missed the goal by a mile as it hurtled towards us but Pierre stepped in and caught it on his chest. My boobs ached at the thought of even trying that but he didn’t feel anything as he controlled the ball at his feet and kicked it back.
“Thanks, bruv,” one called back before he stopped mid stride and pointed at him. “You ain’t that Formula One driver, right?” I laughed at the question and Pierre shrugged casually. “No way, come have a game, my man.”
“Go on,” I said before he could even think about declining it, because I knew he would be thinking about Addie and not what he wanted to do. We could wait a few more minutes without it being the end of the world. “As your personal trainer for the week, I insist, go do your cardio.”
The guys introduced themselves quickly for the five-aside match of shirts vs skins and I saw the crowd of spectators growing when Pierre was on the skins team and took his shirt off, handing it over to me with a wink before jogging off to his team.
The game had a fast pace and Addie was completely enthralled with it, cheering loudly every time Pierre had the ball. She wasn’t the only one I found when I looked around and saw all the women with their phones out capturing Pierre as he dribbled the ball down the field. His leg drew back as he neared the goal and we all held our breath as he took his aim.
The park was silent as his foot connected and the ball went flying, the keeper diving just a little too late. A round of girlish cheers nearly deafened me and Addie jumped up and down clapping as Pierre punched the air and accepted the handshakes that every male universally seemed to know.
He said he needed to get going and grinned at the round of groans and disputes before leaving his new friends and jogging his way back to us.
“We might have to change your name to Pierry Henry,” I teased as I reluctantly gave him his shirt back. “Do you play a lot of football?”
“Not as much as I’d like, but I sometimes have a kick around with Charles.” He pulled on his shirt and took back his phone and wallet before Addie asked to be carried and he put her on his shoulders. “Do you want to play when you grow up, princesse?” She nodded her head enthusiastically and he grinned up at her. “We can practise together.”
Our evening was rather quiet, which was a very nice change. Addie and I had left Pierre at home to do his workout while we went grocery shopping and then she helped me make dinner. By the time the meal was ready Pierre had emerged from my room after taking a shower and he inhaled the mouthwatering scent that filled the kitchen.
“Looks delicious,” he said as kissed my temple and plucked an olive from the greek salad. He tossed it in the air and caught it in his mouth, earning an impressed clap from Addie who then tried to copy him only to miss completely. “Oops, so close. Maybe that wasn’t the best idea.”
“Just don’t start juggling knives in front of her.” I picked up the olive that landed at my feet and tossed it in the trash. “Or at all,” I clarified just to be sure, given the cheeky grin he gave me.
“Can you read to me?” Addie asked Pierre after he finished washing the dishes while I dried.
The plate slipped in my hand and I barely caught it before it fell to the benchtop. She had always asked me to read to her, even when her grandparents were around, it was always our thing. A small part of me was almost mourning the loss of the role but a much larger part was happy that she felt comfortable enough to break from the routine and trust Pierre to put her to bed.
“Of course, princesse. Why don’t you go choose a story while I finish up here?”
She started to run down the hall when I called out to her, “And brush your teeth too.”
She made a non-committal sound but I heard the creaky door to the main bathroom open before the taps turned on.
“She’s going to choose the biggest book just so she can stay up longer,” I warned Pierre as he passed me the last dish.
“It’s a solid strategy but my nephews say I’m a boring storyteller so she might just fall asleep as soon as I start talking.”
I laughed as I put the last plate away and wiped away the suds that clung to Pierre’s arm hairs. “I like your stories, plus, kids can be absolutely ruthless and they don’t even know it.”
“Addie’s not, she’s sweet.”
I grinned and stepped into his arms. “You’re sweet.”
His lips curved up into a devilish smile. “I think you're sweet? But I’m suffering from memory loss so I’ll have a taste of you later to check.”
“You better hurry up and tell the world’s most boring story so she goes to sleep quickly then.” I gave him a small nudge towards the hallway and he left, looking back over his shoulder as he reached her bedroom door to send me a wink that held a promise of what was to come.

“Love and happiness, yeah  Something that can make you do wrong  Make you do right  Yeah, hmm  Love...  Love and happiness”
You poured over your notes for the fifth time after your press conference, looking for something that indicated the mistake had been on your part. This was your third year working for the Kane Presidency. You were originally on the President's campaign staff as a Public Opinion Specialist and upon his election, you were employed as a Data and Intel Specialist.
Your job title was vague on purpose, it was hard to explain to the American people what exactly you did. In simplest terms, you were a girl who knew things. You read situations well and were able to predict how events were going to play out with killer accuracy. It also helped that you happened to know more ways than one to dig up dirt. This gave you access to the inner circle of the White House, becoming an integral part of everyday function with an opinion valued by the president only second to his chief of staff.
For the past week however you had been filling a different role, one of the press secretaries. When the previous one came down with pneumonia last minute the president turned to you to fill the role. And reluctantly you did. You put on your most respectable suit, straightened your hair, and wore your highest heels; ensuring you were digestible enough for the American people. Despite not enjoying being in the public eye, you did the work well and maintained order.
This is why when you were caught off guard by a question today, even one as nonmemorable as this; you were concerned. You replayed the moment in your head as you continued digging in your notes.
“I’ll take one more question before I go.” You spoke from behind the podium, you had been up there for the past forty-five minutes and the questions you started getting were beginning to dwindle in relevancy.
Hands shot up from reporters everywhere and your name was being called from all directions. You looked out into the crowd and nodded at one, Ashley Richardson. She cleared her throat before standing and speaking.
“France’s president has reaffirmed their statement that the attacks on Wakanda’s outreach centers, where vibranium is held, were not perpetrated by them. However, he has commented and said that the country will continue its legal efforts to gain vibranium. Doubling down and saying that the US has pledged its support of France in these efforts. Are these comments true, does President Kane support France in these endeavors?”
As her words registered in your head, you racked your brain to remember if in any of your briefings you had heard any news of this. Nope. Not a word about France or vibranium as far as you knew. This left you with two options, be on the offensive or be on the defensive. Her words caught you off guard but this is what you’d been trained for, you allowed yourself just enough time to blink to be internally baffled before turning back on your personality.
“France is an ally of the United States, as is Wakanda. The President is committed to maintaining a peaceful relationship between the two countries.” You spoke as if your words were fact despite not knowing a thing about what she was talking about. “That’s all for today, thank you.”
The sound of your work phone buzzing pulled you out of your trance, you flipped it over and read the caller ID.
Unknown Caller
The anonymity of the call didn’t surprise you, this was DC, after all, people weren’t too keen on sharing information.
“You have two minutes before I hang up the phone, go.” You spoke coolly, you didn’t have time to waste time on your phone, especially not today.
“You haven’t been answering my calls.”
You threw your head back and let out a sigh, who else would be calling you?
“I have told you a thousand times. You cannot call my work phone.” That was all you said before hanging up on the person. You reached into the back of your desk drawer and pulled out your kimoyo beads. As you got them on your wrist you scrolled through your contacts and pressed Shuri’s name. The call rang for a few seconds before Shuri picked up, her holographic body appearing in front of you.
“Hanging up on the Queen of a nation is an interesting move on the part of the White House I must admit,” Shuri spoke with a smirk.
You didn’t even give her the satisfaction of looking up from your notes that were spread in front of you. “Shuri, I do not have time for your games today.”
She rolled her eyes at your words, unsatisfied with the amount of attention you were giving her. She watched you flip through your notes a few times before curiosity got the best of her and she spoke. “What are you doing?”
Strands of your hair fell in front of your face and you tucked them behind your ear as you shook your head and laughed slightly. “My job, I’m doing my job right now. As one tends to do when they’re at their place of work. Shouldn’t you be doing the same?”
Shuri took that as a cue to continue with what she had called you about. “Ahh yes your job right, I forgot. The same job that made you lie to me?”
That caught your attention, momentarily bringing your focus away from your notes. “Shuri, what are you talking about?” You looked up, meeting her eyes.
“When I called you last week and asked you if your country,” She emphasized the ‘your’ “was going to continue their support of France, knowing they’re the ones carrying out attacks on our outreach centers. You told me no.”
You pushed your eyes back down to the papers in front of you, of course, this is what Shuri wanted to discuss. It seemed you couldn’t escape the conversation surrounding Wakanda and France.
“That is not what I said.”
“Really? Because that’s what I took from our conversation. And then imagine my surprise when I’m made aware that my Y/N is on American television saying the opposite!” She spoke the last part almost comically but you could hear the twinge of irritation in her voice.
You rolled your eyes and placed your palms flat on your desk, attempting to calm yourself down. You were already stressed about this topic and her berating isn’t what you needed right now.
“The relationship between France and the United States is one with a long history of mutual support dating back to the formation of the United States-”
“Oh don’t give me that Y/N!” Shuri threw her hands up in protest. “Don’t give me your politically correct answer!”
“Then don’t twist my words!” You raised your voice and mimicked her by throwing your hands up. You quickly remembered you were at work, and while yelling was commonplace in the White House, you didn't want to draw any attention to yourself while you were communicating with Shuri. Something you weren't supposed to be doing.
“I told you last week I didn't know and that’s the truth, nothing about it has come up in my notes.”
“But today you said-”
You put your hand up to stop Shuri from finishing. “Church and state.” That was all you had to say and Shuri knew to stop speaking.
A year and a half ago when you two first started the entanglement you find yourself in, the number one problem between you two was work. One of you would pry information from the other one and you two would stay up all night bickering over policy. It got to the point where you spent the very little time you two had together due to busy schedules arguing over work. Thus the Church and State policy was created.
You two joked that it was weird that you were applying the constitution to your relationship, but it was clear it was needed. The words were intended to be a reminder to keep your personal life and work life separate. Whenever someone said it the current conversation had to be dropped, no questions asked.
Shuri took a deep breath and nodded knowing the rule had been created for the betterment of your relationship. You returned your eyes to the notes in front of you, desperate to find your mistake. Shuri watched you, sensing something was off but not being able to put her finger on it. It only took a few moments before it dawned on her.
“You didn’t know, did you?”
“Gonna need a little bit more clarification than that.” You said flipping over the page that currently had your attention.
“About Wakanda and France, you didn’t know.” Shuri continued to speak confidently, sitting up further in her chair. “When I was shown the video of your press conference today I thought when the reporter asked the question you paused. I swore to Bast that you did but Okoye said I was crazy. I told her that I saw your tell but she couldn’t see it. You really had no idea about any of this.”
You put your head in your hands and let out a groan. You hated how Shuri was able to read you so well. “I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Shuri once again nodded, sure in her realization that you didn’t know anything by your response. She debated hanging up and letting you continue looking at whatever had your attention but she didn’t want to end the conversation like that. The time you two had to speak was often brief, ruling a country didn’t yield much free time and your White House work always kept you busy. She wanted to at least leave you with something positive.
Shuri watched you for a little bit longer, as you sat with your head in your hands. Deciding now was the perfect time to reveal her surprise. “I will be in your country tomorrow.”
You picked your head up out of your hands swiftly. “What did you just say?”
“I will be in your country tomorrow,” Shuri repeated cooly as if you and her being on the same side of the world let alone in the same country was normal.
You moved the papers that were in front of you away revealing your desk calendar, hoping you weren't too busy. You found today's date and then moved over to tomorrow where a big red X lay. That was an indicator that told you your whole day was blocked out, not free until the early hours of the next morning. You sighed knowing your chances of seeing her were slim anyway, even if you weren't busy, you had no idea what she was doing in the States.“What are you doing over here tomorrow?”
“Good question, I should clarify when I say your country I do mean DC. I’ll be in town for the Developing Countries Ball that your boy is hosting.”
You grimaced at her nickname for the President but quickly snapped out of it. Your hands went to open your laptop and you found the file named DCB, containing all of the information about tomorrow's event.
“I knew something was off.” You muttered to yourself checking the guest list once again. “Wakanda didn’t RSVP Shuri. We don’t have you listed as coming.” Maybe it had slipped her mind but you remembered having to break it to the President that Wakanda wouldn’t be coming. And the guest list in front of you supported it.
Shuri just smiled her million-dollar smile at you. “Oh, I know we didn’t.”
You blinked twice at her, willing yourself to believe what she was implying wasn’t true.
“So you plan to just show up and what? There'll be no table, no planned greeting, it’ll be a mess!” You rambled on and Shuri sat quietly listening to you. Her silence was unnerving, so you thought about what you were saying.
“There’ll be no table.”
“There’ll be no table. Shuri repeated with a chuckle.
Your eyes bore holes into Shuri’s holographic body as realization further sank in. “It’ll be a mess.”
“Yeah won’t look too good, will it? Not being prepared in his own backyard, I don't think voters will like that so much.”
You let out yet another groan and threw your head back against the plush office chair behind you. “You know when you do this you only make my job harder right? It only makes me have to work double time to cover his ass.”
Shuri sat back in her chair, interlacing her fingers behind her head. “So don’t.”
You rolled your eyes and spoke. “You forget I have a job, Shuri? The thing that pays my bills, makes sure I can eat and sleep comfortably at night. The job that practically says “cover the president's ass'' in its description.”
“You don’t have to work for him and you know that. There's a job here for you whenever you want it.” The words flowed out of her mouth with immeasurable self-assuredness. This was a point she was familiar with making, insisting that the Kane Presidency, rather the United States, wasn't good enough for you.
Asserting that your skills could be used for more than covering up the sins of politicians.  “And even if you didn’t want to work, I could always use a Queen to rule with.”
“Making me a Queen before even making me your girlfriend, bold I must admit.” You retorted back quickly, immediately regretting it. You knew Shuri hated when you brought up the conversation surrounding your relationship, especially because there had always been an unspoken rule between the two of you. Titles weren’t needed, what was just what was. Simple as that.
“Y/N-” Shuri sat up out of her relaxed position as she tried to defend herself but the sound of the alarm on your phone stopped her.
“Fuck.” You muttered under your breath, stopping the alarm. “I have my roundtable in five and I haven’t prepped my report yet.” You pulled another file up on your computer and began typing quickly.
Shuri knew that meant her time with you was over for now. As much as she wanted to continue the conversation she respected your dedication to the job.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, okay sthandwa? Maybe I can come over since I’ll only be in town for a day and a half?.”
You nodded, if you had been paying attention to what Shuri was saying you would have stopped her idea right then and there but your laptop had too much of your attention. But, “Mhm we can talk about it later.” was all you could say.
Shuri took one last look at you before hanging up the phone, knowing you didn’t mean to be short, you were just clearly a little stressed.
Your roundtable went well despite your lack of preparedness. Nobody spoke about the press conference from earlier and Wakanda nor France was even mentioned. Most of the evening was dedicated to talks of trade negotiations with Qatar and the developing countries ball.
“One last thing while we’re still on the topic of the ball Mr.President?” You spoke up as the meeting was coming to a close.
Despite the president's insistence that you call him by his first name, Jackson, you never could bring yourself to it. You liked to maintain a certain distance in your closeness with him, he was your boss after all.
You looked at him as he sat at The Resolute Desk, the same place every president had sat dating back to 1879, him only the second black man to sit there. He wore a black suit with a navy tie that complimented his skin tone well, with his American flag pin on his left side. He looked presidential, just as you had helped design him to be.
“You know it’s never just one last thing with Y/N.” The President said with a smile earning a laugh from the others in the Oval Office.
“Just doing what you pay me for.” You said back with a smile and a nod.
“Always appreciated Y/N. Please let’s hear what you have to say.”
You looked around the room, generally, your opinion was trusted without question but this one was going to be a bit of a hard sell and you knew it. “We’re going to need one more table for tomorrow.”
“And why would that be?” The president had a confused look on his face. “I thought we already finalized the guest list, who did we forget?”
“I have reason to believe Wakanda will be in attendance tomorrow.” You said confidently.
The president's chief of staff, Michael was the first to speak “Wakanda…Wakanda…Wakanda.” He said as he flipped through his notes. “No Wakanda is not coming, not only is Wakanda not coming they’re giving us a middle finger by not responding.”
The president turned his attention back to you, awaiting your response. You could feel the pressure in the room as everyone else wondered where your claim was coming from.
“Based on the intel I’ve gathered I have reason to believe that Wakanda plans to attend tomorrow. Queen Shuri and a few Dora Milaje members if I had to guess.”
The president took a deep breath in. “Well your intel hasn’t failed us yet Y/N, no reason to believe it will now. Michael, talk to the events coordinator, and let’s set up a table with, what do you say, 8 chairs Y/N?”
You nodded in response as you started packing your things up, not as bad as you thought it was going to be.
“Yeah, let’s get a table with eight chairs set up for Wakanda.” He looked around the room. “Well everyone I see no need to hold you all here too late given what we’ve got in store for tomorrow. Everyone go home, I don’t want to see any of you in your office after an hour!”
The people in the room all laughed at the president's comment, you were happy knowing you could take your work and finish it at home. Everyone slowly filed out of the room and you were one of the last, bidding your farewell to those still there as you left. You made it out of the oval and down the hallway that led to your office before you felt someone walking beside you.
“You ever gonna tell me how you do it 007?” The voice asked, you looked up and were met with Michael’s face. He was older than you and had been in the political sphere for longer but there was mutual respect shared between the two of you. It had even developed into a friendly rivalry.
“How many times do I have to tell you not to call me 007?” You laughed before turning your face serious. “At least not in public.”
You both paused walking and stared at each other sternly for a few seconds before cracking up in a fit of laughter.
“I’m serious Y/N how do you do it!” Michael exclaimed when you reached the door to your office. He stood there as you unlocked it and walked in behind you once it was open.
“If I gave you all my secrets Michael, I wouldn’t have a job would I?” You walked around to your desk and kicked off your heels, happy to be done with them for the day.
Michael plopped down in one of the chairs opposite your desk. “Just tell me this once how you do it 007, tell me one thing and I won’t ask again!”
Sliding the comfortable slippers on your feet you spoke. “Nobody really wants to know how the sausage is made. Just be happy I saved your ass hmm?”
The older man rolled his eyes at your words, watching as you packed your bag up with the things you would need to work from home. “Oh, you’re actually listening to him and going home? Didn’t expect that from you, I must admit.”
You look up from your bag. “You’re not?”
Michael shook his head as he rose from the chair. “I live here Y/N, you know this. Someone has to be here to ensure liberty is protected and our nation is secure, blah blah blah.” By the time he had finished, he had made it to the door of your office.
“Have a good night Michael.” You said with a chuckle, he always did have a certain determination about work that you appreciated. While you let your work dictate your life, work was his entire life.
He put his hand up to wave goodbye and walked out of your office before turning around and poking just his head back in. “I’m gonna figure you out, I will figure out how you know these things.”
You cocked your eyebrows at him and smiled. “Figure me out or die trying, that’s the saying right?”
He returned your smile and turned back around. “Night night 007.”
You finished packing your bags and made your way out of the White House, making sure to say goodbye to Morris as you walked out of the front gates. You made your way to your car and drove the 15 minutes it took to get back to your place.
Pulling into your garage you made a mental note to call your gardener and have them do a refresh of your small front yard, your flowers were starting to wilt. You entered your house through the garage door and kicked off your work slippers and put on your house shoes. Setting your bag down on the couch you made your way into the kitchen, stomach hungry for something to eat.
You browsed through your fridge, there was food you could cook but that was going to require something you were running low on at the moment, energy. Moving over to your cabinet the bag of popcorn caught your eye, you had promised Shuri you would stop just eating wine and popcorn as meals but desperate times called for desperate measures. You pulled the popcorn and a bottle of red wine along with a cup down from various cabinets and laid them out on the counter, ready for you when you came back.
You made it into your bedroom where you stripped and took a long hot shower. Allowing the steam to rinse away the stress from today. After getting out you moisturized with the shea butter Shuri had bought you and dressed in a pair of shorts and one of her sweatshirts. The smell had started to fade from this one and it made you sad to know that meant the last time you saw her was further and further away.
You grabbed your water bottle from your nightstand and made your way back to the kitchen. As you waited for the popcorn to finish in the microwave you popped the cork on the wine bottle and poured a hefty glass for yourself. You savored the full-bodied taste of the red wine, the one you had chosen was one of your favorites, first introduced to you by your mother.
The popcorn finished and you held the bag in one hand with the bottle of wine tucked into the crook of your arm and your glass in the other hand. You walked into your living room and sat everything in your hands on the coffee table in front of you before reaching into your bag and pulling out your laptop, kimoyo beads, and both your personal and work phone.
Opening your laptop you threw back a couple of pieces of popcorn and got to work. While the developing countries' ball was at the forefront of most upper cabinet members' minds, you had moved past it. Knowing that Michael and the events coordinators would take care of the table and greeting, your job concerning that was now done. Now you were focused on your next big project, re-election.
You tapped through a few files that served as decoys and entered the passcode that let you into what you were looking for. The file that held every ounce of dirt you and the US government could find on the presidential rival candidates. You reached for your glass and took a sip of wine, holding the glass in your hand as you picked up where you left off, digging through one candidate's fiscal records. That were obtained 100% legally…maybe.
“Donated to pro-life fundraiser, not very left wing of you.” You said to yourself adding that new information into the file, sometimes it was too easy.
Something buzzed next to you and you looked down to see a call from Shuri on your kimoyo beads. You slid them on your wrist and picked up, now that you were more calm seeing her call felt more like a relief than a stressor.
“Hello, my love.” You said sweetly smiling at her as her holographic body popped up from your wrist. You could tell she was in her lab by the background, more specifically in her corner station. She had a turtleneck underneath her lab coat and you could see her black slacks just peeking into the frame.
“Oh, now I am my love?” Shuri asked with a chuckle, she knew your attitude earlier wasn’t intentional but she enjoyed messing with you about it anyway.
“I’m sorry, earlier I was just stressed with work, you know how I get.” You said apologetically.
“I am just teasing you sthandwa, I know you didn’t mean to be rude.” Shuri smiled at you and you returned one to her before grabbing a handful of popcorn and munching on it.
“Are you eating popcorn?” She asked as she watched you throw another handful back.
“Mayh-be.” You responded hesitantly through a mouth of popcorn.
“And I see that wine glass in the corner, Y/N we talked about this!” Shuri exclaimed. “Real food, you promised you would eat real food.”
You finished chewing before speaking. “This is real food!” You held up the bag of popcorn. “Popcorn is just corn, that's a vegetable.” You put the popcorn down and picked up the glass of wine. “And wine is just grapes, that's a fruit.” You accentuated your point by taking a sip of wine.
“HA!” Shuri let out a hearty laugh. “That’s wrong and you know it.”
“My points would hold up in a court of law.” You said matter of factly letting a smile crack on your face. Moments like these you loved, when the both of you were just being you, making each other smile.
“Bull shi-” Shuri went to cry out but the sound of ringing from your end stopped her. You recognized the sound of the ringing and knew it meant someone was calling your personal phone. Not many people had your personal number anymore and you didn’t use the phone for much of anything these days. Normally you would have immediately checked who it was but you didn’t move your eyes from Shuri.
“Aren't you going to get that?” She asked.
You shook your head no and reached down to silence your phone without looking at who was calling. “Whoever it is can wait, I’m talking to a pretty girl right now.”
Shuri smiled again and began speaking. “Anyway so I was thinking since I’ll be in town tomorrow, maybe I could come ove-”
The sound of your phone ringing once again cut her off.
“Mrs.popular today aren't we,” Shuri said smartly. “You should get that, it must be important if they're calling you twice.”
“Shuri-” You wanted to stop her but before you could she said “We’ll talk later Y/N.” and ended the call. Your phone next to you had stopped ringing and you let out a groan. Shuri being irritated with you right before she came into town was the last thing you wanted.
Your phone beside you rang for the third time and it confirmed your suspicions. Aside from Shuri, there was only one person in your life who felt entitled enough over you to blow up your phone. You took a deep breath and flipped it over before picking it up.
“Hello, mother.”

Note
TK constantly acknowledges that he fucks up, apologizes, and he calls himself names while doing so. He apologized and called himself "crazy" for not responding well to Carlos's surprise date in season 1. He apologized and called himself a "bitch" for being upset that Carlos didn't introduce him to his parents in season 2. He tried to apologize for fighting with Carlos in season 2, and Carlos said something about agreeing not to, meaning that they had talked about it. He apologized and said that he "screwed up" for talking to Iris now in season 4.
Idk what show you are watching, honestly.
Yes. TK does. TK has also been in therapy since he was seven (even if he’s mostly applied those strategies after rehab), has two parents who were in law school and process everything verbally even if it’s not effective. TK has better skills around communication and always has. I’ve argued that since I started watching the show. There’s several metas.
But no one drags him through his fuck ups, he owns them naturally and in some cases, I think he over apologizes. TK drags himself through his fuck ups. But I think TK is used to being, occasionally, the most functional being in the room with his parents and does a lot of managing of situations. He’s always apologizing and sometimes over apologizing. It’s who TK is.
Carlos, meanwhile, does not process verbally. He never has. He sits and stews. He gets petty and doesn’t own his parts. He’s a perfectionist who is terrified that if he’s wrong or fucks up he won’t be enough or loved and is driven to be the best he can to the point he occasionally lies or gaslights people in order to not own his shit. He’s been like that since season one.
He has two parents who he came out to at 17 who never mentioned it again, even with him turning around and getting married at 18-20 and that marriage rapidly falling apart. Like? They don’t talk. About anything. We see it in how stoic Gabriel is in 2.08 and is shocked when Carlos lashes out. Carlos says that the most emotional he’s ever seen his father is 2.12 after the arson. Even in 4.04 TK takes a moment to lash out at Gabriel for keeping everything so close. This is the man Carlos has been trying to impress his whole life. Gabriel Reyes is a man who very clearly believes actions speak a lot louder than words and Carlos is very similar.
Carlos has also, to my knowledge, never been in therapy. TK is the better communicator (I’ve said that since I’ve started watching the show). He’s been slowly learning communication skills from TK. We’ve seen such a change from season 1/2 when Carlos would call TK crazy for holding boundaries or pretending TK’s assessment of meeting the parents wasn’t weird. Instead we’ve seen a progression to season 3 where Carlos doesn’t entirely pretend everything’s fine but opens up before TK disappears in 3.13. We get a man in season 4 who doesn’t try and fix it without telling TK but goes to him and tries to come up with a plan.
Carlos does not tend to apologize verbally like TK. He apologizes, most frequently, through action. We see it in 1.03 when Carlos asks TKK out on a real date instead of trying to manufacture a date out of a booty call. We see it in 2.12 when TK tries to apologize for the fight at the firehouse and he’s cooking dinner and tells TK to leave it. We see it in 3.04 where he immediately takes TK home and has already moved TK in. We see it in 3.13 when Carlos calls Cooper and puts a pizza in the oven and leaves.
The only real verbal apologies we get out of him is, aside from stupid things when TK almost died, is the one about his parents which required TK pushing him not once, but twice on the issue. TK did call himself a little bitch (but he wasn’t fucking sorry about it) and told Carlos how unsafe he felt because of Carlos’s actions and that’s when Carlos apologized. He often needs to be confronted with how his actions affect people to apologize and there wasn’t time for all that processing here.
They’re both petty bitches and I love that so much.
That’s the show I’m watching. I’m not surprised Carlos was icy in 4.03. He’s icy whenever he’s upset, even if it’s himself he’s mad at. He projects his anxieties like crazy. While I think TK felt blamed and blamed himself (because he always does even if it’s not his fault - with like everyone including his parents) I think knowing Carlos, he mostly blamed himself, and took it out a little on TK, which isn’t cool mind you, it’s not okay. But my boys are both fuck ups in their own right and I love them an insane amount.
Y’all Carlos Reyes is a man who cooked a full candle light meal after sending the equivalent of a “you up” text. This is a man who bought a whole ass condo without telling his partner after they’d agreed not to buy it. Like…I don’t know why any of you expect this man to have communication skills. He has to be pushed into literally every conversation/speech he’s ever had about his feelings. I don’t know why TK thought Carlos could even deliver a heartfelt speech to their friends about being engaged. It’s not his style.
But TK has them in spades. It’s one of the reasons they work together. Like puzzle pieces. So…yes. I will keep them and I don’t need to be hit over the head with Carlos’s fuck ups because I’ve witnessed them from 1.02…he’s always been a mess y’all. He just pretends really well and I love him for it.
He still needs therapy.

I’m going to see if writing this out in this anonymous space helps me at all.
My dad has cancer. He was diagnosed a couple of years ago. It’s been under control until now, when it has spread quite aggressively to his bones. He called a family zoom meeting and told us. It was two weeks ago, the day after the baby had moved. At the time I had no capacity to deal with another trauma. I actually felt angry that he was imposing another trauma on me when I was already maxed out. Of course I didn’t say that. I messaged my sister to ask if she knew what was going on, and she sent me a screenshot of a message from my mum to her, saying “the appointment was awful but your dad will have to tell you”. This is how we communicate in our family, we are all scared of my dad so we message around him.
Since that meeting, my dad has had another scan and then was awaiting an appointment for decisions on chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
I messaged our family chat (just my parents, sister and me) at the weekend and asked if there was any update. No reply. My sister messages me privately and says, he’s due an appointment on Monday, but she doesn’t want to say that in the family chat in case she gets told off for speaking out of turn because she knows our dad likes to tell things in his own time. (Can you feel the dysfunction bouncing out of the screen?)
On Monday morning, I wonder to myself if the appt will go ahead because there’s a doctors strike here in the UK. I am too scared to ask this in the family chat. Later that day, I message my sister to ask if she knows if the appt has gone ahead. She says as far as she knows it was still planned to happen. On this basis, I message the family chat asking if it’s going ahead. Within an hour, my dad replies that he got the appointment day wrong and it’s not till Thursday.
To anyone in the outside world, we appear a very normal happy functional family, two parents in a loving marriage, two successful, happily married children and a generation of grandchildren . But underneath are layers of complicated stuff that the world doesn’t get to see. We are all scared of my dad, to varying extents and manifesting in various ways. I think I am the most scared, maybe because I faced his anger/impatience the most as a child and tried to shield my younger sister from it, maybe because I am more sensitive and affected by others moods and prone to blaming myself. T knows all this and I wish I could have her back to process what’s happening now with, because in order to try and work through it with a new therapist, they would first need all the back story, which feels so exhausting to go through again.
When we were on holiday with my parents in the summer, it was all (mostly) fine when everyone was together. But one evening everyone else went out to the cinema, leaving me and my dad home alone. I was in such a state of anxiety the entire time, watching the minutes tick down until everyone was back, and praying that he wouldn’t speak to me. I feel so ashamed that this is our relationship and I know my dad would be very hurt and shocked if he knew (he genuinely believes he was an amazing parent), but also the magnitude of trying to unravel it and either shatter his belief in himself or destroy his relationship with me is unthinkable. Aside from anything, I’m just not brave enough.
So I carry on, trying to walk the tightrope of saying the right things at the right time and keeping quiet at the right times, tiptoeing round the emotional landmines, and trying to hold all the complicated feelings of sadness and relief and grief in some sort of same time existence.
And I wonder how bad it should get before I take myself back to therapy.

Tumblr media
New Occurences
It was only two rotations after you got your tattoo, and you were resting after a small battle. You were laid on your stomach on your bunk. Only in your sports bra and the bottom half of your blacks as you worked on an enhancement for Tech. You heard a knock on your door and you turned your cheek toward the door.
"Come in!" You call out and the door opens a second later. Obi-Wan walks into the room and his eyes skim over your back.
"That's the tattoo? Do you mind if I look at it closer?" He asks and you shake your head. He moves closer and gently touches the edges of the tree. "I assume all of these symbols stand for one of your brothers?"
"Yeah. 99 for our unit and 99 for the first defective clone. The skull for Hunter, because 99 made him a bandana with a skull on it... He never takes it off. The goggles are for my twin, Tech because his eyesight isn't the best and they serve many different functions. The grenade is Wrecker because- Well I think it's pretty self-explanatory based on his name. The crosshair is for Crosshair because he's the best sharpshooter in the GAR." You tell him and he seems to drink in all of the information.
"You must love your brothers very much." Obi-Wan says.
"We are all each other has. Most of the regs don't like us, because we're different." You tell him.
"And what about this omega symbol on the back of your neck?" Obi-Wan asks.
"One of the only other female clones is named Omega. I was raised in the lab with her." You tell him and he seems to be saddened by that.
"You weren't raised with your twin?" He asks.
"No. They separated Tech and me before they got put into the general population." You tell him.
"It must've been lonely." Obi-Wan says and you shrug.
"It would've been had Omega not been there." You tell him. You sit up so you can face him as you talk, but no words leave either of your mouths. You both continue to stare at each other until you finally clear your throat.
"I came to see if you were hungry. You came back here after the battle." Obi-Wan says and you nod.
"I am a little hungry." You say and get up to put the top half of your blacks back on. You blinked and suddenly he was directly in front of you. You blinked rapidly as you looked slightly down at him. "Obi-Wan?" You asked in a whisper.
"You are gorgeous. Has anyone ever told you that?" He asked as he looked into your eyes.
"No. The Kaminoans don't compliment you, Omega is a child, and my brothers are- Well they're my brothers." You tell him and he once again frowns. You both continue to lean in closer until your lips meet. His arms snake around your waist and yours go around his neck. Your flesh hand runs through his hair for a moment until reality hit you. You pulled away and backed up a couple of steps.
"I'm so sorry, General." You said and he took your hands in his.
"We both leaned into it (Y/n). It's one of the best kisses I've ever had in my life." He says in full sincerity and you quirk a brow in question.
"I thought Jedi weren't allowed romantic entanglements?" You ask and he looks away bashfully.
"My Master believed differently." Obi-Wan said and took a seat in the chair at your desk while you sat back down on your bunk. "He believed in order for the Jedi to truly be involved with the populace we needed to be open and accepting of emotions. He saw the order as flawed and emotionless. He was a supporter of my relationship then, and had she asked me to stay with her... I would've."
"You would've given up everything you knew for the woman you loved?" You asked curiously.
"Yes. She is one of the most beautiful people I've ever met, both inside and out. Much like you. That day that you fought Dooku you didn't even think you just jumped into action." Obi-Wan said and you chuckled and shook your head.
"Oh no. I did think... About how stupid what I was about to do was." You said and he laughed.
"Regardless you saved two lives that day. Anakin might not have met you yet, but I'm glad I did. I only wish that I could keep you in the 212th." Obi-Wan says honestly.
"Clone Force 99's commanding officer is Cody. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of eachother in the future." You say and he smiles lightly at your words.
"Kyra and Jut are going to Kamino tomorrow." He tells you.
"Good, because Hunter and Crosshair want tattoos. I know the moment I get back they'll be showing them off to me." You tell him.
"Anyways I came in here talking of food. Shall we?" He asks and you nod.
"Yes because now I'm very hungry." You say with a chuckle. You put on your armor and make your way to the mess in comfortable silence with Obi-Wan. You sat down at a corner table with your trays and you looked at Obi-Wan curiously.
"So how do the Jedi rankings work?" You ask him.
"When a child is brought to the Temple they are younglings. Younglings are typically between the ages of 3 to 15. When old enough younglings are moved to padawan learners when they reach a certain age and are tested. They're then assigned to Masters who prepare them for the trials. When they pass the trials they become Jedi Knights. They will then be given the opportunity to teach a padawan, and when their padawan successfully passes the trials they become Masters." He says and takes a bite of his food.
"That's it?" You ask and he chuckles.
"You didn't let me finish. There are four governing councils within the order, and I am a part of the most important one. Jedi Masters who can make a name for themselves can become a part of one of these councils. The Council of First Knowledge, the Council of Reconciliation, the Council of Reassignment, and the Jedi High Council. Which I am a part of. There is still higher rankings when you move through the High Council. That is the Master of the Order and the person who leads the High Council. Then you have the Grand Master of the entire Jedi Order." He finishes speaking and continues eating. You wait for a moment to see if he'll continue but he doesn't.
"That's alot to go through in one normal lifetime." You say and he waves it off.
"Being a Jedi isn't easy. It is oftentimes too difficult for Knights to become Masters." He says and you become confused by this.
"Why? If their padawans pass properly it shouldn't be an issue." You say.
"It's more along the lines that Knights don't particularly want to teach the next generation. Or padawans decide to part with the order for one reason or another." Obi-Wan says and you push a piece of chicken around in your soup.
"It must be difficult for those padawans. Walking away from the only life they've ever known like that." You say and he nods. His com starts blinking and he answers it.
"Obi-Wan." He says as the image of a younger male took shape.
"Obi-Wan sorry we were held up, but the 501st and I will be on Christophsis by tomorrow." He says.
"Very good, but be mindful of the shifting Separatist air patrols Anakin." Obi-Wan says.
"Have I ever given you reason to worry Master?" Anakin asks.
"Don't make me answer that question Anakin." Obi-Wan says. You try to hold in your laugh, but it turns into a snorting sound. It catches Anakins attention and he smirks at Obi-Wan.
"Who's that Obi-Wan?" Anakin asks. Obi-Wan looks at you and then sets his com on the table so that he can see you.
"This is Captain (Y/n) of the 212th, temporarily." Obi-Wan informs Anakin who looks at you as though he was studying you.
"I'm sure I'll have time to meet everyone tomorrow Obi-Wan. Until then try not to die." Anakin says. Obi-Wan rolls his eyes.
"May the Force be with you." Obi-Wan says then ends the call. "Sorry about him. He can be rather inappropriate at times."
"Hmm but is it inappropriate when it holds some truth?" You say with a smirk. You finish your food and then turn your tray in and leave back to your barracks.
~The Next Day~
You made your way to the command center and find Obi-Wan and Cody staring at the holotable.
"Does it owe you credits or something?" You asked and they both looked at you then at eachother.
"(Y/n) I think you'll want to sit down." Cody says seriously and you continue to look inbetween the two men. You finally take a seat and wait for one of them to tell you what's wrong. "I just received word that the entire battalion of the 75th was killed in action." You felt your lungs constrict as you realized you wouldn't beable to see Commander Garrett or any of his men again. You stand abruptly and shove your helmet on over your head.
"If you'll excuse me sirs I have something I need to go take care of." You say trying to keep your voice from wavering too much. You exit the command center and make your way to the med bay. When you arrive you find Kyra and Jut finishing a tattoo on one of the 212th. When he leaves you finally make your way to them.
"Hey (Y/n). How's everything?" Jut asks and you remove your helmet. She automatically pulls you into a hug. "What happened?"
"I just found out that one of my friends and his entire battalion were killed in action." You tell her and she frowns.
"Then why did you come here?" She asks.
"I wanted to get one more tattoo for them." You said and she nodded.
"Where do you want it and what is it?" She asks.
"I just want it to say 75th behind my right ear." You tell her and she nods again.
"Yeah I can do that, but then Kyra and I will have to leave right after." She says and it was you turn to nod.
"I know. I'll escort you to your shuttle." You tell her and she preps the area then sets to work. Kyra finished packing her stuff up and sat next to you. She took your hand in hers and smiled at you with reassurance. When Jut finishes Kyra pulls you to her station so she can clean the area and cover it. While she does this Jut packs up her stuff. When they're ready to go you put your helmet back on and escort them as promised.
"Two of my brothers will most likely come in to get tattoos. Their names are Hunter and Crosshair. If you see one of them can you give them this to give to Tech?" You ask Jut and she looks at it in question.
"What is it?" She asks.
"Oh its just a holorecording. I want to let them know I'm okay." You tell her and she nods.
"Yeah, I can do that for you." Jut says then they board the transport and leave. You start back to go inside when the sound of approaching gunships catches your attention. You make your way to the first gunship that lands and the door opens. A clone captain sporting the color blue was one of the first people you saw. Then shortly after Anakin steps out behind him.
"General Skywalker I presume?" You ask and he nods.
"Yes, this is my Captain, Rex." He says and the clone takes off his helmet to show the rare blond birth defect. You remove your helmet as well and Rex seems to shift uncomfortably under your gaze. "I'm Captain (Y/n). Last I saw General Kenobi and Commander Cody they were in the command center. I'll take you there." You say and turn to lead the way. When you arrive you allow the General and his Captain to go in first.
"Anakin, how nice of you to finally join us." Obi-Wan says and notices you walk in behind them. "I see you've already met (Y/n)."
"Yes, she greeted us when we exited the gunship." Skywalker says. Rex looks you up and down as he tries to figure you out.
"There a problem Captain?" You ask slightly irritated that he was just staring at you.
"No problem. Just trying to figure out why you're here." Rex says and you roll your eyes at him and join Cody's side.
"She's temporarily a part of my battalion." Cody tells Rex.
"I know that, but as a civilian, she could be doing anything she wants instead of fighting in this war." Rex says.
"She's not a civilian. She's a clone." Cody tells Rex.
"Can we get on with the mission briefing? We've been waiting a week for your battalion." You say and plug into the holotable to bring up the plans for the next mission.
"For this plan to work efficiently, we will need to split into two teams. Anakin you and Rex will lead the team in the north tower, while Cody, (Y/n), and I lead the team in the south tower." Obi-Wan starts but stops when he notices Skywalker and Rex both staring at your arm. "Your eyes need to be up here on the plans, and not on her arm gentlemen. Besides it's not nice to stare at the woman who saved your life Anakin." Skywalker looked at you slightly surprised. Obi-Wan continued with the mission briefing and you did your job by pulling up the necessary visual aids. When the briefing was over Skywalker made his way over to you and stuck out his hand for you to shake.
"It's nice to finally meet you. I heard you had it alot worse than Obi-Wan or me with Dooku." Skywalker says.
"War has casualties, General. What matters at the end of the day is the success of the mission." You tell him and he frowns.
"The lives lost matter Captain." He says and you shake your head.
"You misunderstand General. The lives lost do matter, but it will have been in vain if the mission was unsuccessful. There's a reason we clones are so driven because we're taught to honor our fallen brothers. Even if our reg brothers don't like or want us." You say as you cast a glance toward Rex in an apprehensive manner.
"Reg brothers?" Skywalker asks.
"Regular clones." You say and he frowned. "They've hated me since I was little. Well most of them have. I learned earlier that the battalion that named me was killed in action." You tell him then show him the tattoo behind your ear.
"I'm sorry for your loss." Skywalker says.
"What is it General Kenobi said a few days ago? The Force will take whoever it wants when it's ready? I think, but don't quote me." You say and turn to leave the command center. Skywalker catches up to you as you walk down the hall.
"Have you ever thought about learning about the Force?" He asks and you shake your head.
"I didn't know it existed until I got assigned to General Kenobi." You said.
"Well, Obi-Wan and I could tell you about it." He says and Obi-Wan appears out of thin air at your side.
"Tell her about what?" Obi-Wan asks.
"She quoted you about the Force a few minutes ago, and I thought we could teach her about the Force." Skywalker says and Obi-Wan raises his eyebrows.
"Do you want to learn about the Force?" Obi-Wan asks you and you think about it for a moment.
"Yeah. I think I do." You tell him and the two of them smile at you. Whatever it is they're planning to teach you about excites them.

for a prompt: marlene realising dorcas has been excluded from the order meeting because they don't trust her and only marlene is vouching that they can
Dorcas hadn't been giving an assignment, Marlene realised with a frown. This was the third week in a row.
Lily had been called in as backup whilst she was off duty and at work, but Moody had said there was no one else available. At the same time, Dorcas was at home, on duty, and waiting to be called in.
Something was wrong.
And Marlene burst through the doors of the leader's little private meeting.
"Why hasn't Dorcas been on as many missions as the rest of us?" Marlene turned to Dumbledore and McGonagall, "You two taught us lot. You know how smart and powerful Cas is, so why are you just leaving them on the sidelines?"
Dumbledore sighed, "Miss Mckinnon. I understand how much you care for Miss Meadowes. But the functionality of the Order relies on secrecy. I assure you that we choose who goes on which missions with the utmost consideration."
Marlene narrowed her eyes, "No, fuck that. You're saying the Order runs on secrecy? So you don't think they can keep a secret or something?"
McGonagall's lip twitched, "It has come to our attention of past friends that Miss Meadowes has kept, and continues to keep whilst in the Order. Now, I'm not saying they would betray the order in the slightest, of course not. But their connections to those who are now death eaters may make them vulnerable, unable to take action against their friends."
"Dorcas doesn't talk to them anymore! They stopped speaking when they found out they became death eaters, and they're not going to put past friendships above their morals and beliefs. I know Dorcas, more than anyone, and they'd never do that."
"You need to be extremely careful in times of war", Moody frowned, "Your loyalty to Meadowes clouds your judgement."
"Cas' loyalty to the Order clouds their affection to their old friends. The Order is their priority, and you need them. You know you need them and you'd have to be a fool to not."
Dumbledore smiled, "We can't just put the entire Order at risk-"
"No you can't put the entire Order at risk. Which is exactly what you'd be doing by not letting Dorcas actually help."

For the last day of the @bahrynfestival I wrote a little thingy for the Get A Room prompt, using an idea that I scripted to be part of my Kalluzeb series quite early in the process. Featuring two idiots finally confessing and still not confessing their love for each other 😅
“Hello there!”
Zeb unsubtly kicked open the door to Alexsandr’s little office, letting himself in as usual.
Alexsandr flinched. “You know better than to startle me.”
“At least you’re not pulling a knife on me anymore” Zeb smiled at him. “I call that progress.”
“I call that disturbance of an officer in function” Alexsandr muttered, but he felt no real annoyance towards his friend.
“Anyway” Zeb said, as the door whooshed closed behind him. “Anyone order a personal space-heating Lasat?”
Hoth was a cold planet, but at least most of the buildings on Echo Base were reasonably warm. Alexsandr’s office, though, he kept barely above a proper liveable temperature, unwilling as he was to waste any Rebellion resources on something as insignificant as himself. Zeb had told him otherwise countless times, but he hadn’t been able to sway him, so instead he had seemed to take it as his personal mission to hug Alexsandr warm whenever he dropped by to say hi. Alexsandr didn’t mind that, not at all.
“Not me” he snorted, playing along. “I guess you’ve got the wrong room.”
“Oh, apologies, I’ll go check that out” Zeb said, turning to leave again.
Panic flooded Alexsandr’s mind. “No, no, wait!”
Zeb turned back around. “Yes?” he smirked.
But Alexsandr fell silent, suddenly feeling incredibly self-conscious as he realised that there was no way he could pretend that this thing between them was just a friendship anymore. As repressed as he was, he wasn’t stupid. He knew the way Zeb was acting towards him was on another level than with anyone else, even his family.
Zeb must have read his change in body language because his smirk fell ever so slightly, and in three long strides he had reached Alexsandr’s desk. “Aleks…?”
Alexsandr stood up, throwing his arms around Zeb’s neck without a word. Zeb immediately enveloped him with his own, and they stood like that for a long time, neither of them saying a word, just drinking in each other’s presence.
Eventually Zeb released him. “Warmer?”
“I have to say, on a base like this I’m glad to have my own space-heating Lasat” Alexsandr said, defaulting to his neutral, slightly sarcastic ISB voice in order to hide how his heart was hammering against his ribs as he tried not to jump right back into Zeb’s arms.
“No no, personal space-heating Lasat” Zeb chuckled. “As in I heat your personal space.”
“Oh” Alexsandr said, blushing as he quickly sat back down at his desk. Had he misread the situation? Did Zeb do this with everyone on base?
“… but I could be your personal personal space-heating Lasat” Zeb added. “If you want.”
Alexsandr’s heart stuttered to a halt in his chest. What had Zeb just said?
Were they still talking about Zeb’s function as a heater…?
Zeb looked at him expectantly, and he realised he had to say something.
“I…” he started, uncertain. “I would like that, yes.”
“Are you sure?” Zeb asked, a bright grin spreading over his face and lighting up his eyes. “You won’t easily get rid of me again.”
Alexsandr shrugged. “Not the most life-changing decision I’ve made” he muttered, attempting to deflect as he turned back to his work, even if his heart was vibrating inside him.
“True, Agent Kallus” Zeb emphasised. “Guess I’m yours then.”
He proceeded to lean down on top of Alexsandr’s head, lighting the latter’s cheeks on fire.
And Sabine chose that exact moment to come in.
Upon noticing the two of them, she rolled her eyes, smiling all the same. “Oh come on, get a room.”
“I believe we have” Alexsandr replied, not looking up from his work – he was certain he would only blush worse if he would meet her eyes. “And you’re the one who decided to enter.”
He could feel Zeb grinning on top of his head.
